12 Days of Christmas
A Christmas tradition in our home is the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Twelve days before Christmas Night my younger brother and sister, and I choose families or people that we would like to share the Spirit of Christmas with. For every Day of Christmas we have a family or person with which we want to share a lil bit of love with.
We spend the afternoon baking cookies, writing out Christmas stories or thoughts, making Christmas ornaments and all kinds of things to give to those that we want to share our love with. With each little gift we give, we leave a message letting the people know that tha Spirit of Christmas to us, is the Love that you share with someone that you care about. They were given the cookies to show how much we cared about them, so in return, they can show their love by doing something for someone else, even if its just to smile at a stranger!!!
The “catch” about this, is that we do it all anonymously. The goodies are left on the doorstep of the people, after we’ve knocked on their door and run away before they got there. To receive a gift from someone (you don’t even know WHO) is an awesome feeling, it lets you know that people do care, and are thinking about you!!! The funny thing is….we’re the ones giving the little goodies, but in the end, we’re the ones that get the most out of it.
May God bless and Merekirihimete to you all
