A Christmas in the Rockies
I live in Utah where Christmas time starts the day after Thanksgiving. On that day we, as a family, put up our Christmas tree and put lights on the house.
Through the month of December, we do our Christmas shopping, watch the snow, and go down to downtown Salt Lake City to look at all the lights. We then head up to Christmas Street and Sugar House Park.
The day before Christmas Eve, I help my aunt out. We make the food at her house the day before and on Christmas Eve night, we head back up home.
When I get home we order out for pizza, every Christmas Eve, while watching TNT and “A Christmas Story.”
As the night gets later, I open one gift. Which is always PJ’s! The time soon comes when I try to sleep. No such luck! I always find myself on the couch, in our downstairs den, watching TV ’till I fall asleep and then wake up around 9:00 in the morning.
After we open gifts, family comes over and we have a nice dinner; turkey and all. We have a nice get-together and when it’s all done, we count down ’till the next Christmas.
