I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and several
I took 24 pieces of candy (none with anything Halloween on them) and tied each piece to a red, green or white piece of 15″ curling ribbon. Then I made tags with the numbers 1 to 24 on them. Cutting them out, I folded them over the other
end of the ribbon and taped the tag in place. I took my daughter’s Christmas stocking and put in the candy ribbons starting with #24 and ending with #1.
Each day my daughter found the right number and pulled out a piece of candy. She thought it was great and we have continued with this new tradition since.
Some years I bought small gifts and used them on some days (especially #24) instead of candy.
