An Ohio Christmas

An Ohio Christmas

Christmas is definitely the best time of the year. Snow, fireplaces, shopping, music, baking, wrapping… it all began in November when the first snow usually fell. It was a beautiful sight to see the ground all covered in white.

Every year, our family used to decorate our tree together while listening to Christmas music. We put the tree in our front living room window for all to see.

When I wasn’t decorating or thinking of the perfect gifts, you could find me in the kitchen. Oh, the smell of Christmas cookies baking…..yum!

On Christmas Eve, our aunt and uncle would have a Christmas party for the whole family.

On Christmas morning, my brothers and sisters and I would wake each other up. Then we would sit on the stairs looking at all the gifts, waiting for our parents to get up — wondering what was inside!

After we tore through all the packages – - and we did this rather quickly– we enjoyed breakfast together.

Our grandparents would arrive in the afternoon and we would eagerly show them what Santa brought.
