Prepare a day before using: Wash the grapes, place on a small tray, put them in the freezer. Several hours before serving, mix Sauterne, Cognac, and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate. To serve: Pour Sauterne mixture into a punch bowl. Stir in the soda. Add the frozen grapes and strawberries. Pour in champagne into punch just before serving.
