Christmas in Puerto Rico
Staff
In Puerto Rico, small bands of carolers, known as Trullas, make the rounds. Crowds
of children go to see the church of San Jose at La Navidad to see the animated
Nacimiento – birth of Christ. During the feast of Epiphany, children place water and
maybe some grass under their beds for the wise men’s camels, and in return,
presents are left. Bethlehem Day is January 12th and children parade through the
villages in tribute to the Magi (Three Wise Men).
