English Christmas in Tennessee
I was born and raised in England and moved to America when I was 14. I’m 23 now and still miss Christmas at home, although I have my own family now and this is essentially home.
The beginning of the Christmas season begins for me around the 2nd week in November and I always miss the cold weather, shopping for Christmas presents… Tesco’s… sausage rolls…the Advent calendars…Christmas crackers… the party hats… dinner with the family and Boxing Day. Most of all, I miss my family and that familiar feeling that being in England gives me.
For those of you celebrating in the U.K., enjoy your Christmas! As for me and my family, we will be having an “English” Christmas right here in Portland, Tennessee in our new home with our 16-month-old little girl, Mum & Dad…with the Christmas crackers… sans Tesco and the proper sausage rolls.
