The Shepherd Who Was Left Behind – by Marilyn Senterfitt

There are 14 speaking and non-speaking parts in this play.  Samuel, the young shepherd, has to stay behind to watch the sheep.  While the other shepherds go to see the baby Jesus.  He is very sad and lonely.  Joel, a young angel, comes down to keep him company.  He tells Samuel of the wonderful things Jesus has come to earth to do.  Samuel is very excited when a shepherd comes to relieve him, so that he can visit Jesus himself.
