Arnold Jaffa graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City, and attended the School of Engineering at the City College of New York. After being selected by the City of New York to take part in an atomic energy exhibit sponsored by the Union Carbide Corp, Arnold studied Atomic Physics at Columbia University in preparation for becoming a guide at the "Man and the Atom" Golden Anniversary Exhibit. Arnold received a citation from the City of New York for the volunteer services he contributed. Arnold spent 31 years in business as the Owner and Operator of R & S Toy Mfg. Co, Inc. He sold his company to a steel corporation with a subsidiary toy manufacturing business. During his first year of retirement Arnold became a licensed stock broker, licensed insurance agent, and a licensed real estate agent, and started a financial planning business in Rancho Bernardo. During the second year of his retirement, he learned about SCORE and became an active SCORE counselor in 1982. In 1994, Arnold published the booklet, "3 Step Simplified Formula for Successful Business Start-Up" and has since updated it a number of times, providing additional applications for the Break-Even formula. In 2005, he published "Arnold R. Jaffa's Tools for Managing Money." Arnold and his wife Doris have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He is grateful to have the health and opportunity to counsel SCORE clients. A dedicated SCORE member, Arnold received the Honorary Life Member award in 2004.
