It comes as little surprise that when Austrian Master Distiller Hans Reisetbauer, turned his attention to producing a gin, it would be made using only the finest ingredients and crafted with the same care and attention that he lavished upon his exceptional pure-fruited eaux-de-vies. Named 2009's Distiller of the Year by the Austrian gourmet guide A la Carte, Hans launched Blue Gin in 2008, born from a love of gin and tonics, he was encouraged by his wife to distill his own. The journey to create Blue Gin, began with intensive research into the category, including tasting around 80 different gins, to identify the classic taste profile, the next step was to create a spirit with a distinct taste, intense and premium in every respect. Blue Gin contains 27 different aromas, from juniper and lime zest to a range of spices, all of which are natural, of course. Blue Gin's small batch production means that only a limited number of bottles are produced each year. All sorts of variations in the botanicals, the wheat and the climate mean that every year's bottling has its own unique and special character.
