Cover Me! A Benefit For Mark Hadland
On the morning of August 20th, Mark Hadland was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident. It was to be his first day back to work after recovering from hip replacement surgery. Mark suffered a compound fracture of his left arm which required surgery and lots of metal to repair. He also fractured the socket of what *was* his *good* hip and massive road rash to the right side of his body. Needless to say, he is in horrible physical pain. Possibly the greatest injury he received, though, was to his spirit. In the already uncertain enviroment that is the film business, Mark is now faced with another lengthy rehabilitation period. "When will a fella catch a break?" was one of the first things he said to me when I visited him at the the hospital. I say, "NOW!" In the course of our conversation, Mark told me they had been getting bids on tearing down his dilapidated patio cover and building a new one. The one they had received so far was way too pricey, especially now that he was staring down the barrel of more off time. Which brings me to The Plan. I want to build him this patio cover, and I want you to help me. Together we can create a space where Mark can recuperate in peace and serve as a constant reminder that we, the people that love him, got him covered. I'm dreaming big, planning big, and with a little luck and some hard work, going big.Film workers are a special breed who make a living pulling off feats most people wouldn't even want to attempt. I need that special ingredient if we are to make this happen. Here's what I'm asking from you, the friends, brothers and sisters of the man from North Dakota.1: Your Time (labor, skills, etc.)2: Materials (a wish list will be posted soon) 3: Financial Support Give one or two or all three if you can, no contribution will be too little.I know these are tough times in our business and not many of us are sitting flush, but please give what you can.
