"Sir Peeka"-Needs Help w/Final Vet Bill
Dear Fellow Animal Lovers..Once again I am asking for help for a lil fellow furryfriend named Sir Peeka. He & his mommy live across the pond & his mommy needs our help to get him vetted ASAP. Sir Peeka's mommy writes; I am asking a friend (Linda Straith) of mine who lives stateside to help me create a chip in. I have never done one, nor have I ever asked for help like this before.I am usually the one who helps when I can. So, I have been asked by Linda to relay me story of Sir Peeka..here goes..Sir Peeka came into my life in stealth mode! It had not been long since moving into the neighborhood, I began to notice my cat's dish was being emptied & licked clean on a regular basis. My cat of 15 yrs, was not doing this. I started listening for tale tell noises-the food dish scraping across the floor, the 'thud" as the unknown visitor would leap onto the fence once having his fill. I would tiptoe to try & catch a glimpse of my mystery visitor. It became a nightly routine, each night, after dark, he would appear, thin & starving was obvious,he'd eat & leave. All the while I was trying to get close enough to figure out if he was a hungry stray, or a a cheeky chappie looking for an extra meal or two. Painstakingly, after many weeks, I was able to stroke him for a couple of seconds. After gaining trust, over time, I was able to determine this fellow had something major going on with his mouth. He required vetting asap, his mouth bleeds often & sometimes there is pus. He worries at it constantly & the stench is indescribable.Unfortunately, I also learned he was not a stray & belonged to the "man" next door.I have asked the "man" 3 times to seek vet care, he has not. Exasperated, I called the animal welfare charity, who sent someone over. They decided there was nothing wrong with him & informed the "man" who had placed the call. He came round & got aggressive, until I threatened to call the police. My only other recourse was to take him to a shelter & as we all know, most are filled to the rafters, not to mention what can happen. Sir Peeka spends his days outside in all weather conditions. The "man" works nights, but for the most part Sir Peeka is out most days as well.Feeds him, maybe, but that is all.The only person this lil fellow has is me. Sir Peeka now waits for me at my back door every night & knows when to expect my arrival from work.He has his little nose pressed up against it, awaiting axiously. He's manage to put some weight on, despite his mouth problems & is very loving, talkative & slightly "daft", but adds to his appeal.. It's clear this lil fellow has chosen me, but I need help to help him. Please consider helping with this chip-in, so I can get this lil fellow well. It's so distressing to see him like this. Please help if you can, even a dollar or two, it all adds up. BUT I know times are tough for everyone & if you are unable to help financially, please help by SHARING/Crossposting to spread the word. Thank You & God Bless!STATUS UPDATE 8-20-12 ;Sir Peeka's mouth was bleeding again & the smell is petrud..He has a vet appointment later on today.(Mon 8-20-12).We'll know more after his appt.
