Prayers for Roxci

Prayers for Roxci

On Sunday my two sisters and Ashlee's dog Roxci were in a terrible boating accident. They were in a paddle boat when a speed boat hit them head on. The speed boat crushed their boat completely and actually hit Roxci directly in the head splitting it wide open. They were thrown from the boat at impact and underwater for quite sometime. Once my sisters came to the surface they frantically searched for Roxci and swam under water to bring her up. They then were rescued and brought to shore by some nearby fishermen. The rest of the family was on shore and saw the whole thing but never would have got to them in time. Someone was definitely watching over them Sunday. We are so thankful for that as well as Ed and Bob (the two fishermen), without them neither my sisters or Roxci would have made it. Fortunately my sisters are going to be okay but we took Roxci to a veterinarian hospital on Michigan State University's campus and she will remain there seeking medical attention until they know further details. She has a lot of swelling in her brain and is suffering a severe brain injury. She had to be put on a ventilator due to the amount of water which entered her lungs while she was drowning. They are currently waiting for the swelling to go down but mostly focusing on her lungs. She had trouble breathing last night and air was gathering around her lungs causing them to collapse and her to fight the ventilator. They had to insert a tube to suck the air that was collecting there out. Not much has come out but more liquid has which could have been caused them to not expand all the way. Her lungs do sound more normal today than yesterday. Her blood pressure and heart rate have remained the same though so that is good. The man who did this was only cited with "reckless operation of a watercraft". If it had been a human it would have been a much more severe consequence but to Ashlee and the rest of Roxci's family she is just as important as any human being in this family. We have receieved a lot of prayers and well wishes for Roxci from family friends and even a lot of strangers. We have also received many inquiries about making donations to help with Roxci's medical bills. It is amazing how many wonderful people have offered their prayers and help. We have created this page for those people who have offered and are wanting to help. From the bottom of our hearts we truly appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you.If you would prefer to give a donation by mail feel free to send them to;Ashlee Johnson12954 11 Mile Road Ceresco, MI 49033***Please visit Rox's Facebook page Prayers for Roxci for daily updates and pictures!***
