Swift's Recovery Fund
Shelby's Swift had to have eye surgery. Just the surgery alone has cost $4,000. I know the agility community is so supportive and generous. I thought it would be a good idea to get a fund started to help pay for this. Here is what Shelby wrote about her heart dog-"Swift was diagnosed with Anterior Lens Luxations in both of her eyes recently. She had emergency eye surgery last week and is now recovering. She seems to be gaining more of her vision back every day. The vet said that a full recovery is likely, but he had never done this surgery on a performance dog and can't guarantee that she will be able to compete again. The fear of the unknown is finally starting to sink in for me. I'm very happy that my baby can see, but the thought of never being able to run her again makes me cringe. She is my heart dog, I got her when I was only 11 years old. Since then we've done so much together. She's such a weird, crazy, silly, dork of a border collie, but that only makes me love her more. No matter what happens, our bond will remain the same. Thanks to everyone who has put Swift in your prayers and thoughts, it means the world to me. All we can do is hope for the best and wait and see..."
