Chayse Daehler Fundraiser
On June 26, 2012, my 13 year old neighbor, Chayse Daehler, suffered a sudden and severe stroke that left him unable to move his left arm, left leg and affected his speech. Doctors determined it was caused by a blood clot that moved into his brain. It had broken off of a larger clot that is still located on his brain stem. Due to the location, they are unable to surgically remove the clot. Since the stroke, Chayse has spent weeks in the hospital beginning the long road of recovery. His positive attitude and determination have helped him mostly regain the use of his left leg and his speech, but there is still much to do. Chayse has approached this situation with a never-give-up attitude and he has been smiling throughout what is certainly a more difficult situation than most of us will ever know.Even with the best health insurance, medical bills are extremely expensive and ongoing treatments can be financially draining on even the wealthiest families. With this in mind, I decided to help by raising as much money as possible to assist this wonderful family through this tough time. Therefore, I am organizing a fund raising tennis tournament. The tournament will be held on August 18, 2012 at Forsyth Country Day School. This tournament is for anyone at any skill level. The entry fee is small at only $15 and all proceeds will be directed toward the Daehler family and Chayse’s recovery.
