My cousin, Troy Billington, is currently battling brain cancer. He is 23 years old. He is courageously undergoing 6 weeks of chemo and radiation. I figure if Troy can kick cancer's ass then I can endure a little pain myself! I have decided to crush the "Tough Mudder" on October 20. It is a 12 mile race with 20 military-style obstacle courses scattered through out. At first, my friends could not convince me to participate becuase I thought it was too intense. I have since been inspired by Troy! My motivation to run this race is to help support Troy and his immediate family. Expensive co-pays, medicine, and not being able to work, can cause the bills to pile up. Added to that is the fact that Troy's parents are often forced to stay in hotels to see him becuase the treatment center is hours from their house.
