On June 4th dad visited the clinic with what we thought was a “sore” throat. At that time he was put on antibiotics and told he may need to be seen by an ENT for further testing to rule out cancer. The pain and swelling never went away and on June 11th he was seen by an ENT who took multiple biopsies. At the time of the biopsies it was almost certain that this was not just a “Sore” throat. The following week our family’s nightmare came true. With the positive biopsies and CT scans showing a large mass in the throat extending to the epiglottis and enlarged lymphnodes in the right neck with questionabl​​e lymphnodes in the chest, we knew then that dad had pharyngeal cancer.
