Husband fighting last stage of cancer..
Curtis Honaker, 34, my husband of 12 years, and father of 4 young boys, all under the age of 10, was given the devastating diagnoses of Multiple Myeloma stage III this past April 2012. This is a blood cancer of the plasma cells that attacks the bone marrow, blood, and bones, that can involve some of the major organs. He has several lytic lesions (like holes in the bone) throughout his body from the cancer and has been told he has the rare aggressive form of Multiple Myeloma. It is an incurable, terminl illness, but we are believing that God will place his hand in this situation and allow his will to be done. He is receiving full-time chemo, having to be driven to Morgantown two days a week for 6-12 cycles, each cycle pertaining of 4 treatments of chemo, and than faces stem cell transplants. This is a 6 hour round trip alone without adding in the doctor visit, the labs, etc....and we will be making this trip for the remainder of cycles and for the stem cell transplants. We are facing 4-6 months in Morgantown when he recieves the stem cell transplant after the chemo, which the chemo is going to last 6 months to a year...each treatment will all depend on his cancer progression and prognosis. This is a cancer that normally hits adults in their 60's or 70's. He has worked since he was 15, and always supported his family...but now is forced to file for disability. Which means at the present we are awaiting an income. He fights everyday, and lives his life to the fullest capacity. He has one of the most amazing positive outlooks on life. He does not allow anything to get him down, although at times he feels so bad. He told his doctors he was not going to allow a cancer diagnoses get him down or make him enjoy life any less because only one person in this world knew when it was his time to go and whether it be from cancer, accident, or whatever, it was going to happen when it happened and he was living each day to its fullest with his boys and wife. He always has something funny to say, when your down, he will always lift you up, loves to make you smile, even when he feels bad. He is an awesome father and husband. Loves his children and me with everything in him and would do anything for us. He has a long hard journey ahead of him, along with his family. We appreciate everything anyone does for us, with much love, and ask that God returns the blessing. Most of all please remember us in your prayers:) Curtis, Miranda, Matthew, Elijah, Andrew, and Jacob.God bless all the friends, family, and supporters<3If you do not have paypal or would like to donate through mail, etc. please feel free to message me or email me firstname.lastname@example.org.
