SAVE Gypsy Jacks House!
Many of us know the legends of Gypsy Jack on Flint's East Side, and have spent moments over the last few decades cruising by his old house on the corner of Davison & Olive to catch a glimpse of the creativity that made him legend. If you still drive by the area, you'll find that the house has been looted, destroyed, and neglected for many years now. We recently had the opportunity to purchase this local landmark, and decided that we HAVE to, so we can SAVE this home! Please, if you love the Legends of Gypsy Jack, and would like to help keep this home from the chopping block, help out now! The home needs a COMPLETE ground up restoration. As we receive funds, we will continue to re-build this home, and restore it to look as old Gypsy himself would have liked it. Once we get the outside looking right, we're going to start restoring the inside and get the home livable to help house an interesting project called "Community Now". It's an attempt to make artists live/work space so the home will be filled with artists that are going to use their talents to help save the neighborhood and community around them. The best way to fight blight, is with a little beauty :)So give now, give generously (this projects gunna cost a lot!), and share this link everywhere! Only together can we save Flint, let's start here!We are working out the details on a "Contributors Wall" or some form of art work acknowledging the support from community members. We will post more details soon :)
