Brittney has Muscular Dystrophy, which is a genetic disease that slowly deteriorates all of the muscles in the body. On a daily bases she is faced with many obstacles and must rely on others for every aspect of daily life. With this disease comes muscle loss, and over the years She losted almost all her muscles, to the point that she’s pretty much paralyzed. She’s been able to do one thing without assistances, which is use her computer with her 2 fingers. Using the computer she makes her caregivers schedule, manage her medicine & medical supplies, manage her money & pays her household bills, and even ordering groceries. But recently she woke-up to find out that she was unable to move her fingers. It was devastating to her. Her 2 fingers were the last of her muscles and to her the last little bit of independence.Her caregivers & I have started fundraising to buy an assistive device that would allow her to access the computer using my eyes.
