Tuition; Birthday! (08.23) Fundraiser
I'm currently enrolled in the QC Makeup Academy and working towards becoming a certified M.I.M.P. (Master International Makeup Professional)As of 08.19.2012, I am roughly about halfway done already! With the help that I've already received, I've been pushed ahead by 3 MONTHS - I would not be this far along without you guys, so thank you for those that have already contributed. In short, there are 6 "Units" to complete for this program. Units A-F - I'm currently working on Unit C.Aside from tuition, ($92/month - must make 3 payments before I'm eligible to go onto the next Unit) I could also really use assistance with stocking my kit. The ladies know, but for the guys - makeup...is expensive & I need *a lot* of different kinds in order to provide the best quality of service to the people that I work with and to use for assignments. **Short backstory**It took me 8 years between dropping out of my Sophomore year of high school up to a few months ago for me to finally figure out what I wanted to do - or what I could do with my life, especially following my disability beginning in early 2009.The short version is that my mind kinda bailed on me around Jan-Feb of '09 and I was initially diagnosed and treated for 2.5 years as a parnoid schizophrenic. I wasn't making much progress until about November of last year (2011), which is when I started seeing a new (and finally competent!) psychiatrist, who more accurately diagnosed me as being Bipolar I; depressed type, but still severly psychotic. It's not a whole lot better, but now that I have the medications that I need to improve my overall quality of life and ability to put my life back together gradually, I'm starting to do so because unlike some people - I don't think of Social Security as being a lifetime support system. If I can work and enjoy what I'm doing, then I would love to do so and I consider this opportunity to be my own personal "calling" and chance to put the pieces back together, make something of myself and also help the LGBT community - the "T" part in particular. If there's anything else that you'd like to know, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support - in any form. It's never lost on me!D.M./B.P.
