Please help Madi get a Service Dog!
Madison was born with a Chromosone disorder called (Partial) Trisomy 15 not to be confused with Prader-willie. With that she has generalized and uncontrolled seizures. She has Hypotonia and is G-tube fed. Her main problem is not being able to get her Co2 levels back to normal. Her Apnea's have kept her in respiratory failure. So when she is not sick and doing all her perscribed treatments, she is stable with high Co2 levels, but her kidneys and heart works harder to compensate. When she gets sick it's a battle for her life, which we almost lost back in late Jan. We have madison on a Pulse-oximiter 24-7 and for the lamen, that's a monitor that measures oxygen levels in her blood. When she stops breathing less O2 is obsorbed and the alarm sound's off warning us of her desaturation of O2. Problem is, is that the machine we have is perfect when we are awake, but risky when we are asleep. So our Dr.'s and us believe that having a dog that can handle our needs will not only help keep Madison safe it will also restore some sanity and relieve some stress for Anna and myself. Here is an idea of what we need from a service dog.1. Alert us when madison is in distress.2. Alert us when the Pulse-oximiter sounds.3. Carry O2 tanks.4. To stay by Madisons side. 5. To go poo in the toilet. :)Food for thought: It would only take 200 people to make the leap and donate $20 each for us to reach our goal. Thats less than a dinner "out", less than what you may spend on a t-shirt. Please Help us help our daughter get a service dog. Thank youAshley, Anna and Madison
