For the Benefit of Tresa Honaker
On January 11th of this year while rehearsing with my aerial dance group, I fell from one of my beloved aerial silks severely injuring my back. After 10 days in the Sutter Roseville Neurotrauma ICU, and 4 weeks rehab at California Pacific Medical Center I am now living at home with my partner Joe Simms in a small apartment in Grass Valley CA made accessable by local donations.I dislocated my 9th thoracic vertebrae, shearing my spinal cord, and suffered 3 broken ribs. They did surgery to re-align my spine and repair the partially shattered vertebrae. The surgery went well, I fortunately had an excellent surgeon. Currently I have no feeling from the waist down. My rehabilitation is being focused on me living my life as a paraplegic. The outpouring of well wishes has been tremendous and uplifting! I am trying very hard to deal with the situation moment by moment remaining positive about the future. The pain, which can be tremendous, is the greater challenge for me right now. My life has been forever altered. The future adaptation costs will be significant and I will be unable to work during the rehabilitation process. There are so many people asking about how they can help through gifts and fundraising. A donation account has been established in my home town of Grass Valley in order to help offset medical and rehabilitation expenses. You can give to this account through Paypal/Fundrazr or if you prefer to deal directly with the bank it is Tri-Counties Bank (formerly Citizen's Bank). Please make checks out to Julie Lang, FBO Tresa Honaker. Monetary gifts in any amount are dearly appreciated.Thank you all for the local benefits that have helped me tremendously both emotionally and financially!
