SBS/AHT (shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma) is a term used to describe the constellation of signs and symptoms resulting from violent shaking or shaking and impacting of the head of an infant or small child. Victims of Shaken baby sydrome live with long term consequences such as seizures, learning disablities, cerebral palsy, breathing, hearing, and speech difficulties, death, and many more. Emilia Elizabeth Matwiy was born March 20, 2007. She was shaken by her mothers ex-fiance DANIEL BERGE late July 2007. We lost our precious Angel Emilia to SBS on August 5th, 2007. Emilia lived a short, but very happy life. She was a very happy baby always cooing and smiliingAfter a long 5 year battle in court Dan was only scentenced to a 3 year jail sentence for taking Emilia's life . As a family we would like to raise awareness of SBS and the poor scentencing that these criminals are gettting.
