Day by Day Fund
As many of you know, my daughter Jillian is a Cancer survivor. At 14 months old she was diagnosed with a rare, very aggressive brain tumor called Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor (AT/RT). She was given a less than 10% chance of survival. We were told that she probably wouldn't live to see her 2nd birthday. Jillian is now getting ready to turn 9 years old!! Jillian is a survivor...not a statistic. When Jillian was diagnosed we created a fund to raise money for research of AT/RT. All money donated to the Day by Day Fund is given to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. It's that time again...fundraising time! Two of my nieces have shaved their heads to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer. Elena shaved hers during a St. Baldrick's event and Anja shaved hers during a school assembly. Both of these girls are teenagers. Imagine back to those days...it was hard fitting in. It was hard finding yourself. These two girls recognized the fact that cancer patients don't have a choice when it comes to their hair. They did what they could to raise awareness. They both make me so proud. Now it's my turn! If I can raise $500.00 towards AT/RT research I am going to shave my head!! I'm 39 years old, not a clue what I'm doing...but I know I'm going to do something :)Donations can be made directly through PayPal by clicking the "Give" button. If you would like to make a donation with a check, please make your check payable to "Jennifer Uriarte" and mail to: 1034 Freedom Court, Quakertown, Pa 18951. All money received will be put into Jillian's Day by Day Fund and then donated to CHOP.Let's do what we can and make a difference!!
