Fundraiser for Amelia Jolene's Medical Expenses
Amelia Jolene Thompson was born on August 29th to Alex and Casey Thompson of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Her Grandparents are Norm and Raylene Thompson of Maricopa, Arizona, Jim and Lisa Duffy of Metheune, Massachusett and Alexis Carlone of Palm Coast, Florida.Amelia had open heart surgery on September 4th, at Presbyterian/St.Lukes- Rocky Mountain Childrens Hospital in Denver, to repair a transposition of the great arteries of the heart. They also had to repair a hole between the upper chambers of her heart(Atrial Septal Defect) and a hole between the lower chambers of her heart (Ventricular Septal Defect). Although she has had many challenges since the surgery, she continues to get stronger day by day.Amelia has been in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Rocky Mountain Childrens Hospital PS/L since her surgery. Casey has been able to stay in the room with her and has not left her side but briefly since she was born. Alex had to return to work after two weeks but continues to commute to and from Denver as much as possible so he can be with Amelia and Casey.A fundraiser was held by the good people of Gulley Greenhouse, Inc. in Ft. Collins, CO, where Alex and Casey are employeed, on September 22nd. The staff and management did a great job putting together a fall festival benefitting Amelia and her parents!Another fundraiser is planned by K'Bella Salon and Day Spa in Maricopa, AZ, for the week of October 7-13. They will be donating 100% of the proceeds of all Childrens cuts to Amelia's Medical fund!I have had many friends, family and friends of friends inquire as to what they could do to help. I have set up an account through FundRazr/PayPal in order to accept donations from anyone that would care to donate but are not in the area. Donations can be made by either PayPal or credit card. Please note that FundRazr/PayPal fees of 7.2% will be deducted from the donation. If anyone would prefer to contact me and I can "inbox" you with Alex and Casey's address where you can make a donation directly to them.I want to take a minute to personally say "THANK YOU" to the awesome doctors and medical staff at Presbyterian/St. Lukes for saving my Granddaughters life! I would like to thank Gulley Greenhouse, Inc. for doing such an awesome job on the fundraiser on Saturday! I would also like to thank Karen Benedek and the ladies of K'Bella Salon and Day Spa for their upcoming fundraiser! Lastly, I would like to thank all of our friends, family and friends of friends that have been concerned and have sent their prayers, best wishes and thoughts to us during this time! We send our love and gratitude back to you all!
