Family Walk to support Cael's Fight Against SCID
Cael is the nephew of a very good friend of mine. Cael was 7 months old when he was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID). It is a rare condition in which he was born without the T cells in his immune system which are required for fighting infection. Cael has been in hospital for over a month now with an infection in his lungs, and he will need a bone marrow transplant as soon as he sufficiently recovers from his current illness. We are doing a Family Walk through Lee Valley Park on Sunday, 21 October to raise funds to help relieve some of the financial strain on Cael and his family during their lengthy hospital stay and recovery period. If you would like to know more about Cael and his fight against SCID, please feel free to view Cael's blog (as written by his Mum) at http://www.caelslife.blogspot.co.uk/or his FaceBook page http://www.facebook.com/CaelsLife
