Grace For Chase
Leukemia doesn't ask permission before it walks in the front door of your life. Chase Johnson, just 7 years old, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), in January of 2012. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a form of cancer of the white blood cells characterized by excess lymphoblast’s. Malignant, immature while blood cells continuously multiply and cause damage or death by crowding out normal cells in the bone marrow and other organs. The overall cure rate in children with ALL is about 80%, however that doesn't make the road ahead any easier. Chase is often in pain and sometimes spends long periods of time in the hospital. The chemotherapy is draining and he just recently began cranial radiation. Right now, Chase is doing okay. Every day is a stepping stone. He is a fighter, our Superhero, always sporting that infections smile! His mother, Lisa has shown such strength for him even though this is the hardest thing she has ever experienced. At this point, she has stopped working to be by his side at the hospital, and on days between treatments, when the doctors approve, she packs him up and drives to Disney, Busch Gardens, and other places that take his mind off of the reality of his illness. Their love for each other is admirable! Please consider a donation today to benefit Chase and his family. Above medical bills and treatment, proceeds will go towards organizations helping to cure ALL and other types of pediatric cancers. Also, we will give to Chase's favorite programs here at The Children’s Hospital such as Pet Therapy, Arts and Crafts, Music Therapy, and 'Barbara's Friends.'We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give! God Bless you.
