American Heart Association Walk Fundraiser
At our son Cooper's one-month check up, he was diagnosed with a rare heart defect/disease known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with left ventricle non-compaction (LVNC). HCM is characterized by the abnormal growth and arrangement of muscle fibers in the heart, leading to excessive thickening of the heart walls and LVNC is a rare form of cardiomyopathy that is diagnosed by the presence of excessive deep grooves in the muscle wall of the lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart. Cooper's HCM has resolved but he still has LVNC which he will more than likely have the rest of his life. Unfortunately, there has been little research done on LVNC because of it being a rare disease. Please support us as we walk to find a cure for Cooper and other children suffering from LVNC.
